How do I get started?
First, register by clicking the “Register to
Compete” link in the upper right-hand corner of the homepage.
Complete the form and click the submit button. Once registered you can
begin downloading images, video and music files for your video mashup.
What kind of software do I need to make a video mashup?
Any video editing software will work, and many are free downloads.
Popular programs include Adobe Premiere, Windows Movie Maker and iMovie
for Macs. Here are links to free programs you can download:
Microsoft Movie Maker (Windows only)
Wax (Windows only)
Zwei Stein (Windows only)
Apple iMovie (Mac only)
How long does it take to create a video mashup?
It depends on how many edits you want to make and how many friends you
invite over to help, but most mashups can be created in an hour or two.
What if I don’t have video footage of my team?
Shoot some, ask your friends if they have some, or use still photos.
You can create great effects using zooms and pans from still shots.
What do I get if my video mashup wins?
In order to win, your high school must be participating in the 2008
Great American Rivalry Series (see participating high schools). If your
video mashup is the winning entry from your high school, you will
receive an Air Force prize package, recognition at the Great American
Rivalry Series game, and have your video mashup posted on airforce.com.
Can I win an Air Force prize pack if I do not attend one of the 40 high
schools participating in the 2008 Great American Rivalry Series?
Unfortunately you cannot win a prize pack but anyone can view and vote
on video mashups.
If I create a video mashup, am I making a commitment to the United
States Air Force?
No, this online contest is about fun, school spirit and high school
football. Participating will not enlist you in the Air Force.
What is the deadline?
